I pray that this message reaches all that read, at the apex of great health and pinnacle of high spirits. After reading a few of the tips and entries of 'Fit and 40 Something" network, I was inspired to make a contribution to this uplifting social network. I believe social networking should have a profound purpose and serve it's members with ways to help improve, inspire and motivate ourselves to reaching a higher level of existence.
In celebrating this Holy Month of Ramadan with over 1.6 billion Muslims worldwide, the time dictates the agenda. So in this month of renewal and purification, "Fit & 40 Something" brought me to open up the posted blogs over the last few days. Ramadan is indeed a month of purifying oneself. We as Muslims arise before the sun every morning for prayer, then we abstain from eating or drinking from sunrise to sunset. We do not partake in any activities such as, smoking, taking in intoxicants, we strive to think righteously, no sexual activity or sexual thoughts and no arguing with anyone for any reasons. We also partake in reading the entire Holy Qur'an throughout the month.
As a student under the teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad as taught by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, this is indeed a time for me to begin a course towards perfection. With Allah (God's) help and permission, I will turn 40 in October. I feel the best now than any other time of my life. So I will have a full physical examination on 09/28/2009 and proceed to practice the principles of Ramadan beyond the said, 30 days.
As followers of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad we are taught and should be practicing the dietary laws of How To Eat To Live: one meal per day, no pork, no collard greens, no cornbread, no black eyed peas, no rich soy bean flower, no kale, no sweet potatoes, no scavenger seafood; i.e. no catfish, shrimp, lobster crabs or any fishing weighing over 50 lbs and no eating of nuts. We fast three days a month, only water and coffee during this fast. We are encouraged to be vegetarians and drink pure raw milk, eat plenty of fruit and vegetables and our staple is bean soup. We do not smoke, drink or take any drugs. Most importantly we are taught to think correctly and righteous and we are encourage to study.
I look forward and into this "New Beginning" of myself. I will be back in the gym within 14 days for high endurance strength training, running 2 miles per day and begin taking martial arts and self-defense classes. I am so thankful to Allah (God) for His intervention in my affairs. I look to become a humble and helpful servant.
Blessed is the Holy Month of Ramadan! PRAYER PURIFIES THE HEART, FASTING PURIFIES THE BODY AND READING OF THE HOLY QUR'AN PURIFIES THE MIND.
Thank you
