Thanks for posting the Pilates video. She is so right about using about 2lbs to start off with. I took a class recently for the frist time. We had a choice between 3 lbs and 5lbs. I counldn't decide, so I said 3 is just to light. I went with the 5 lb dumbells and was running back for the 3 lbs,but guess what? They were gone and their was nothing left, except the 5 lbs. lol

If you or anyone is really interested in practicing Pilates on their own, I would suggest that they go to a Pilates studio and take a few classes to learn the basic principal of maintaining their center/core while they are doing various exercises on top of this.

Even, the people I teach every week have to be constantly reminded to do the following. Use there pelvic floor, draw their site bones together and never have what i call open access in the rear. How to use the muscle of the back to move their arms through space and not their pectoral and upper traps. How to isolate muscle groups and on and on.

It is important to remember what Mr. Pilates' Philosophy was. To created balance, to re-tool bad habits, to provide a foundation starting from the center.
Needless to say if it is easy, you are probably doing it wrong.

Of course not! By all means share your knowledge - - for it is truly needed and appreciated.

Although I do not practice Pilates, I am looking forward to hearing and learning more about it from you and any one else that can elaborate!! It will be a great experience.

I only hope that this video comes with a introduction about the basic principals of Pilates. I don't mean to make waves but the model is not applying them, which make all the exercises moot. They become like any other exercises you do in generic body sculpting.
